The Austin Strategic Mobility Plan will guide Austin’s near- and long-term transportation investments in the context of a shared vision of sustainability, livability and mobility.
In this survey, we want to know from you:
• the values that help shape that vision, and
• the tools that should be part of Austin’s future mobility system.
First, the values.
You have 40 dollars to spend. Look at the following
eight
statements and indicate how much of your $40 you’d spend to achieve each of these objectives.
You can spend all $40 on one, or $5 on each, or any other combination you choose, but you must spend all $40.
Now, go!
All Austinites should have multiple options for getting to work, school, shopping and recreation.
Growth should be concentrated within the Austin city limits and focused along established corridors that serve drivers, cyclists, pedestrians and transit.
Austin’s transportation system should support adopted neighborhood plans and encourage neighborhood connectivity.
Austin and Central Texas need to work together to invest transportation dollars to make the road and transit network as efficient as possible.
Austin’s roads, rail and trails should connect with and support a comprehensive regional system.
Austin’s transportation system should be designed to protect the environment and reduce the city’s carbon footprint.
Austin’s transportation system should be and feel as safe as possible for the community to be as livable as possible.
The transportation system should support job creation, investment, and enhancing the city’s tax base.
